Hanging On to the Summer

This summer seems to have gone past very quickly.  The first half of our summer felt very busy, so I am glad that we spent the second half of our summer fairly relaxed.  We didn't do very much apart from spending time with family and being in nature, two very wholesome activities.

At the beach:

In the woods:

By the rivers and fields:

I feel slightly reluctant to start Year 5, given how much work we're going to have to do to get up to speed to where I think we need to be.  My plan tells me that will be an interesting year, but I won't underestimate the amount of work that's required to deliver the results that I'm looking for, alongside the constant effort needed to bring Tiger's neurological challenges down to the minimum level.

  1. Lovely pictures. We are about to restart too and I have a slightly overwhelmed feeling about the amount that needs to be done. I'm hoping that once we start everything will slot into place!

    1. I know exactly how you feel, Sarah. :-) Thank you for letting me know that I'm not the only one who's feeling overwhelmed by the thought of getting started!

  2. Don't think of the long road, just each step as it comes. You'll do it! I'm visiting from Weekly Wrap Up.

  3. Hwee,

I enjoyed your photos. They look very attractive as collages. Sometimes I don't want to change our routine, especially when we've had lots of slow and lazy days. But everything usually falls into place quickly, and we find ourselves keen to explore new things after a long rest. I hope this is what you find too!

    1. I hope so too, Sue. I'll have to! I'm sure I'll be fine once I get into it. :-) Sometimes it's just the thought of the whole year's worth of work that makes the job seem unmanageable.

I've found a new free collage maker online (Fotor Collage Maker) that works much better than the one I used before so I've been playing around with it.

  4. Summer goes so quickly doesn't it? We only had two weeks off but we are going away back to Ireland later on in the year when the children will get another three weeks off.
The photos are lovely. Is the beach sandy? It looks it, but there aren't many around in England.

    1. Summer has gone by so quickly! I can't believe it's September already!!! It's good to know that you're taking some time off later in the year to go to Ireland. I feel like I need to get away too, except that it's not possible at the moment due to my having to manage Tiger's condition, which is easier done at home.

The beach is a sandy one. We were at one of the beaches in the East part of England. :-)

  5. Hwee, you beat me to it - I've been wanting to come over here for a proper catch up since i got back! :-) Your nature photo collages are stunning. We spent a long weekend at the beach - I love being able to come back on Monday morning, when everyone else is in school - so we are easing our way into the school year very gently. It feels good!
