Since we have been studying animals, specifically classification. With a view to moving on to vertebrate as a topic, I thought it would be a good idea to actually see some of the animals that we have been studying rather than just learning from books. The best place to do so: the zoo.
Before we went to the zoo, Tiger completed a revision of classification. By now I think the basic classification of animals has been drummed so much into him that he is not going to forget it anytime soon.
Now for some real animals! Since it was a weekday in winter when we went to the zoo, there was hardly anyone else there. To my surprise, most of the animals were out and about in the icy weather.
Tiger has inherited my old camera lately and has been very eager to use it on this trip.
Although seeing the exotic animals was an eduational experience, Tiger had the most fun petting the pygmy goats and being so close to them.

One of my favorite places is the zoo! It's such a great learning experience.

Love that you actually prepared before your trip to the zoo, and how wonderful that the animals were out and about!
ReplyDeletegreat, great way to finish your study of animals.
ReplyDeleteGreat idea!!! My daughter loves the zoo.. I can't wait 'til she's actually old enough to classify animals. Right now, she's just naming them and she enjoys it!! Thanks so much for sharing this with us at Sharing Saturday. Hope to see you again this week.
